Steamed Salmon with homemade Teriyaki and side dishes

(by Markus)
  • a nice piece of Salmon
for the sauce:
  • 2 parts Soy Sauce
  • 1 part Mirin
  • 1 part Sake
  • a bit of Suger (taste to measure the correct amount)
for the side dishe
  • Sweet potatos
  • Carrot
  • Rice (asian style)
  • Chestnuts
for the desert:
  • big Strawberries
  • Sugar
  • wodden chopsticks

Cook the rice in asian style, when finished crumble and cut chestnuts to preferred size and mix into the rice. Keep the rice warm.

Mix the ingredients for the sauce and simmer (not too strong) in a pan. Use a spoon to stir and frequently check the consistency and taste - you will realize when it is ready. And when that time has come, pour the sauce in a container beside (teriyaki sauce can be stored in the fridge for a long time).

Cut the Strawberries and coat with sugar. Burn the sugar.

Peel and cut the carrots and sweet potato into shapes and steam togehter with the salmon. When finished, fry the steamed salmon with a small amount of oil in a pan - for a short time. Then add the sauce and fry a bit more, turning the salmon several times. Finish before the sauce gets too dry.
